swollen butt on chick

I posted before about a chick I thought was pasted up but then discovered a "meaty" section just below the vent. I'm assuming it was healing umbilicus, so I left it alone. His butt looks rounder and more purple than the rest, but he also keeps getting poo stuck to him. What is better: leave it alone for a few more days or clean off the poop and risk disturbing the scab again? Thanks

I think a little warm water couldn't hurt. Are the others picking at it?

No one has picked at it (surprisingly) from my observations... he's one of the smaller guys so I don't think his butt is eye level for most of the others.

Looks like a prolaspe to me....like some of his insides got pulled out a little too much with the egg shell. Keep it clean enough for him to poop but dont go messing with it too much. If others start picking at it...youve got problems. Hope he makes it!
