In the Brooder
So our 8 month old rooster and some of our hens have come down with something that we are not sure what it is. It started with them getting fowl pox and has gone down hill from there. The rooster has one swollen eye some nasal discharge and a rattling sound when breathing. He will make a cough sound every now and again. Another one has swollen eyes, discharge and is struggling to breathe but she doesnt rattle like it does with the rooster. A third one has the rattling when breathing but no swelling in her eyes or nasal discharge.
We have separated them from the rest of the flock and are treating all of them with tylan and electrolytes. We are syringe feeding the ones that we haven't seen drink the medicated water or eat anything. We have lost one bird to this already and are not sure what the chances for the rest are.
The rest of the flock are showing no signs of sickness but to be safe we have dosed their water with tylan and electrolytes.
Any help on what this is and if there is anything else we can do to help save them would be greatly appreciated!
