    Hi all
One of my cockerels has a swollen face around the eyes and the top of the head with a lot of feathers missing on the top of his head. Not sure if it could be a bite or sting that has caused it. Any thoughts ??

    Thanks

    Chris

Welcome to BYC. Pictures do help. Were his feathers picked out by the other chickens? A sting or snakebite may be possible, but respiratory diseases such as MG or coryza can cause swelling of one or both eyes. Is there any drainage or bubbles in the eyes, or any nasal drainage? Another foul odor? Have you recently added any new chickens?

Feathers may have been pecked by others, no smell, eyes clear, no new chickens. His head seems to be swollen rather then eyes. [IMG]
His face seems to have also lost colour as he is normally a dark red.
