Swollen fluid filled abdomen

Hi There,

My barnevelder pullet who I hatched July 28th 2009 just started laying this past week. I saw her lay an egg yesterday and at that time noticed her abdomen was distended and featherless, the size of a softball. Today no improvement so I hand grabbed her and palpated it. It is clearly fluid filled and clear fluid started oozing from her vent. Her behavior and consumption is normal otherwise. She is not dumpy at this time. So I am hoping to pull her through this...

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for your input.

Great! I'd be glad to try and drain her. I have a syringe. Where do I stick the needle? Approximately how many inches? Anyone know? Thanks!
