One eye is protruding and lid is swollen—the eyeball itself looks completely dark. I’m guessing an injury or perhaps a sting? I’ve been fighting yellow jackets in the area of the coop and run. She seems ok otherwise. I’ve included some pics but they aren’t very close up.

Any help appreciated!

My guess is that the eye has been pecked and you may be seeing the vitreous humor coming out or herniating. I think the eye migght be lost or blinded. I am not an expert on eyes, but it looks serious. I would probably keep it moist with eye drops or antibiotic ointment.

Pecked (or bit by something?) is my best guess as well. I also had a chance to take her to the guy I got her from and he gave her an antibiotic shot just in case. If it looks no better by tomorrow he suggests lancing it to relieve the pressure. I think, in any case, vision is likely lost in that eye. Just hope we don't lose her. She continues to eat and move around pretty normally.
