swollen red lump below hen's ear

Can someone please tell me if I’m goin in the right direction… noticed hot swollen lump under my 18 week old chicken’s right ear . I read some info y’all posted on your page here, and thought I’d see If u had any insight. I have already started her on Tylan 50 injections 1x day. Thank you. Her name is “boo boo.” 😊
I cannot see the picture you tried to post. When posting look up at the rectangle with the mountain and sun circle, and try there. Tylan 50 can be given orally to chickens, and dosage is 0.25 ml per pound given 3 times a day for 3-5 days. It might even be better to start a new thread of your own, since this one is over 10 years old.

You could try and treat for an ear infection. Tylan might help, or even SMZ-TMP. It depends if and what bacteria, or if it is caused by a virus or mites. Clean the ear canal with peroxide and apply some plain triple antibiotic ointment to the ear canal. Seeking vet care is always a good idea.
