Swollen skin over Tom's eye

I have a young tom that is having trouble with his eye. Its swollen on top of his left eye and he rubs it alot. I haven't seen any damage/scratches that hes been willing to show me, I may have to get my husband to help me wrestle him so I can get a better look. Could this be a sign to another underlying cause other than a scratch or something of that sort?
