One of my Scots Dumpy males has swollen wattles. My chickens have been having frostbite, but do they always swell up like that? My other Scots Dumpy male's wattles are a bit swollen, but not as much as the other's. Who knows; they might've gotten warmed up and straightened up by now( I have them in the basement). Does anybody have any tips on how to deal with frostbite? Besides petroleum jelly?

Mix some aloe and vaseline together, it will help to soothe them.
Should go down fairly quickly, like the next day, depending on how bad it is.

Also if you are using a metal waterer, can you change it over to a plastic one, when it is freezing. When they drink, wattles get wet and then touches metal. That causes a lot of the frost bite too.

Good luck!
