Three weeks ago, we got a pair of Great Pyrenees puppies (names: George and Gracie) to guard our flock from the numerous hawks that plague our area. Today, I witnessed something pretty amusing between George and a 3-month-old chicken we hatched from some eggs we bought up in Amish country. George was walking toward me when he suddenly became VERY interested in the Amish chicken: He followed the chicken (which wasn't really paying any attention to him) around the tree, where it settled in with a bunch of other chickens resting in the dirt: Gracie watched from a short distance away: George continued around the tree, watching the one chicken: He walked up behind it, bowed in the universal "let's play!", and: "Tag, you're it!" The chicken squawked and ran, and George immediately lost interest: The dogs are almost as entertaining as the chickens sometimes.
