Tail Fringe-pics

Does anyone know the order of feather growth in ducklings? All their tails are looking like they have fringe stuck to their butts.

Very skinny needle like shafts start to grow long and they have a the baby fuzz.... I guess it looks like fringe... At the tips still.

They just turned 2 weeks. Khakies, Rouens, and Runners.



They all look like this. They are growing so fast!

Our 2 Pekins started getting feathers on their tails at about 2 weeks. they are now 3 weeks old and they look like 2 little cotton balls walking around now. They are starting to get better at floating in the water now too. I am ready for Walmart to start carrying the kiddie pools (I think they are ready for it too) Crickett is anyway she LOVES to swim.

Fringe here, on my two wk old runners. Our just had a quick bath/swim ....and noticed the fringe as they dried off. Yay~

Yep...they will feather in on the underside first....doesn't take long!

My Pekins have that fringe on their tails. Ming Ming has a bunch of little feathers and Daisy has just two sticking out LOL
