So I got a random extra bird from Meyer in my order of Black Astralorps. My son has taken to calling him "the chosen one" because he's gold lol.

So I'm taking bets on what you think he is, right now he's just over a week old!

It isn't. It is a red sex link pullet. A sex link cockerel would be mostly white with red patches in the wingbow.

If it is the Meyer Meal Maker keeping fingers crossed it is a Red Sex Link, or maybe a New Hampshire Red....

Yeah it's the Meyer Meal Maker chick. I was thinking a red sex link but it kind of looks like a Buff ORP chick too, no?

I'm thinking Red Sex-Link or New Hampshire Red as well. Buff Orpingtons should have white legs, while this chick has yellow ones.
