Taking Drake for a swim

Hello, I have a 2 year old Drake, i want to take him out for a little swim but i'm scared he'll just swim away and leave me, is there any way to ensure he comes back safely to me?

Make sure it's a harness for a duck, one time I took my Muscovy duck down to the river in a dog harness and long line to try and talk her sisters into coming home the harness fit well But when she got into the water she slipped out of it and joined her 2 sister and the drake that led them astray. They had to stay on the river over night but thankfully the next morning he brought them home. He was a stray Muscovy that had been living on the river and would come up and visit my 3 females after that incident he came to live with us permanently. I didn't get a dab of sleep that night though.

A figure eight harness made for cats might work.

I’d buy one made for ducks. Look on eBay or amazon.
