No real problem but My broody hatched her chicks in a 1 ft square nest box
.Lately the 8 week chicks go under Mom as usual at night as best they can in the box ..but now the DAD of most a large English Orp is climbing in also
So 2 large chickens and 5 pidgeon size chicks are all stuffed in this 1 ft sq. nest box.
They must be warm but its too crazy!
They have to be standing on top of each other. there are other places to nest or roost too but maybe not as cozy? Id get a picture but from the top is the only way I can take it so all you can see is his back an a 2 inch chunk of Moms feathers. maybe one baby head.

They are staying warm together. I have silkies and they all sleep in one "pile" they look like one big chicken! Its too funny. I would just make sure that the babies aren't getting stepped on or hurt. As long as the bsbies are fine id just let them be to stay warm and comfortable with each other. Try and get a picture that would be really cute to see. :)

I don't see that it's really a problem, but if you're concerned about it just block off the box and force them to roost elsewhere.

I have a similar thing where I have two hens and a rooster sleep in the same nest box, it's got to be warm!
