Tanning bunny hides!

Hello out there,

I was wondering if anybody out there had some good solid tips on tanning rabbit hides? I have a pair of raw furs that I really don't want to go to waste and would be perfect for a craft project. I've done a tone of reading but I keep getting a little turned around. Everybody seems to have different opinion on what works and what doesn't. I've read about salt and alum pickling but some people say it works fine will others say the fur will slip, others say use battery acid but I'm a little afraid of that.

So anybody out there have a good solid tanning recipe that they know works and isn't too hard to put together?

A guy I worked with used the tanning recipe from Mother Earth News that uses battery acid and Bran Cereal. He did it hair on and it turned out nice.
