The incubator I've got is antique. It's a large wooden chest that uses a wafer and fan as a heating system. It can hold 800+ eggs. It was gifted to me from my grandfather many years ago and I can't seem to find any information on it whatsoever.

The thermometer reads 'Taylor, Rochester NY'...

Would anyone happen to know anything about this bator? Thanks so much. [IMG]

I'm not sure what that means because I've never had an antique incubator. I hope you'll find out sooner or later.

Me too. It's OLD, but it works wonderfully. It'd be nice to be able to buy replacement parts and such for it.

Taylor may be just the name of the thermometer, not the incubator.
You need to post a picture. In fact, post several.

Quote:It could be the thermometer, but it's also on the hydrometer/hygrometer too. What are the odds? Here's one photo since flickr's not agreeing with me tonight.

Each shelf can hold about 100 eggs in egg cartons. There's 8-10 shelves, I can't remember. Sorry for the crappy shot.

ETA- The label on the top is a Patent number, but nothing else.

Being given to U from your grandfather, [IMG] I would sure fix it or even restore it the wood looks good for its age.

Quote:It doesn't need to be fixed. Maybe I could slap some varnish on it, but it works fantastically. That's what's hatching out my sister in law's eggs right now (we're on day 8). I'm planning to hatch my buff orph flock with it, if I don't build a MissPrissy Chick Bator this summer.

I did get flickr to agree with me this morning though, so here's another shot [IMG] But my bad, there's only room for 7 trays without the water tray we added. I guess I have duplicates laying in the basement for storage!
