i teach 4th grade in washington state, and we decided it would be a great project to hatch some chicks in class this spring. well... i am now the proud owner of 4 little chicks, 2 more to come. my dad is building me a small coop for the backyard, and the cats haven't quite adjusted to chicks in the office... we had chickens when i was little, but i think i loved them more than they loved me. [IMG] they were squeezed and petted and carried around and pulled on and loved, all the while being very good sports. anyway, just wanted to say hi.

my two housemates are not as eager to have chickens as i... they do not mind, and are actually happy to let me have them, but it's definitely my project. now i keep thinking about all the different kinds of chickens we could get [IMG] chickens are rather addictive...

Welcome teach! I am one too, but I just tell the class about my chickens, I don't hatch them there, LOL.

    Have fun!
