Teenie egg

    Anyone else have an egg this small as the quails first. It's shown against a 12g egg. I thought it was a poop!

    Almost looks like a button quail egg.

    I gave that a thought as well! No buttons here, only coturnix. I'm interested to crack it open and see if the yolk ratio would be the same....

    I had one that small out of my jumbo coturnix. It was the first few eggs I got.

    They are normal size now.

    I just assumed it was like Pullet chicken eggs. Small for their first few eggs. But got bigger after they laid awhile

    Oh weird, I've heard of that, but my first quail laid a 9g egg her first go.. This one just shocked me lol.

    Also referred to as fairy eggs. It shouldn't have a yolk. It can happen to older birds sometimes too.
