This wasn't a first egg, all the girls are laying semi-regularly... why did this happen? They all eat well and get to range from 2-7 hours a day. I leave the light on a lot for heat and light.
The egg is the size of a HUGE grape, but TINY egg. I put it next to a medium sized egg for comparison. [IMG]

Probably just a hickup in the laying factory. [IMG] I wouldn't worry about it too much. I think it's cute!! [IMG]

Did it have a yolk. I read about eggs like that somewhere - they may not have a yolk and the shell just formed around something.

I cracked it and it had what seemed like a really small pale yolk - usually my yolks are bright orange...
    I ate it
hope is wasn't a bird poo egg;) If so.. maybe bird poo is good for feeding more than the garden!

We just got one yesterday. People call them "fart eggs" I think. Nothing to worry about. They just happen.

We just got a tiny egg. Looks just like the photo of the first post. We cracked it open and it had a dark red center with a bloody white. All our hens have been laying for several months.

Anyone have any idea why the egg (yolk &white) would be completely bloody?
