I am guessing Silkie or Silkie mix....I have never had silkie's before but my daughter picked this little one out at a swap meet last weekend. It does have the extra toe.Beutiful colored little bird. Also any guesses to sex.[IMG][IMG]

It does look like a blue silkie. You have to wait and see if it develops a crest. I'm guessing it will have a smaller poof on its head eventually. It's also is bearded too.

Beautiful blue silkie. As a breed they are one of the most difficult to sex before 4-5 mos. of age, and sometimes not till they crow or lay eggs. How old is the chick now?

So being new to this breed I must ask is it normal for a silkie to not have the head tuft?

If they have no crest, than they are not purebred silkies, even poor quality birds have something on top.
