I have enjoyed my transparent hen incubator because it has provided excellent hatchings for me, I can candle eggs without losing much heat, I get a full visual of my eggs all the time!!! [IMG]

I have a Brinsea fully automatic Octagon 20 and I love it cause it really is just 'set and forget'.
The only things I have to do is make sure the water tank doesn't run dry, and stop turning after 18 days...

    This is mine: http://www.pandtpoultry.co.uk/product/categoryid/84/productid/1456

    Pros
    :
    - I can put lot sof eggs in
    - It didn't cost a fortune
    - It's easy to 'personalise'
    - The temp dial is on the front so you can set it how you please
    - It heats up really quickly, and humidity rises quickly too (after opening and closing)
    - Humidity and temperature are very stable
    - Works well on an inverter, if you need to go anywhere for a week!

    Cons:
    - You can't see inside very well
    - The lid isn't a very good fit
    - The eggs aren't stable: one knock and they all go flying
    - It requires some modification to get water in during lockdown
    - The ceiling is a little low for tall chicks
    - Two hand job to open or close

Quote:I have 2 of the Brinseas (not the automatics though)..absolutely love mine.. i have the auto turners so all i have to do is add some water occasionally and remember to unplug the turners when it's time and I'm good to go.. so much easier than the homemade bators I have used my entire life... yup.. the Brinseas have me spoiled!
