How much is a fair price for Buff Orp - 10 month old hatchery stock laying pullets? These were raised by my neighbor from chicks. She and her husband are going to be moving and want to get rid of their stock.... Thanks in advance for any input anyone can give me [IMG]

I know someone locally that sells theirs for $10 a bird.

We sold some 2 month old hatchery pullets for $5 each. Didn't make any money by the time we figured out expenses.

Good luck! Hopefully you can get a deal since they are moving!

Totally depends on your local market.

    I last week, I sold (20) 6-week old pullets for $20 each.

That was the second time I had done that, because I ordered 25 in order to get the 5 that I wanted.

Thank you Wyliefarms, I was thinking in the 10$ range... might get em up to a break even point - or at least take the sting out of it.

And thank you Napa Valley Chickens.... I am thinking that here in central NY, 20$ may be a bit much.... auction birds go for 2-3$ in my area. I appreciate the input though [IMG] I was thinking 10 because I know how these birds were raised, that the flock is healthy, and they were vaccinated against Merks at the hatchery.

My suggestion would be to check on craigslist and see what people are asking there.
