It seems like ages ago someone asked for pictures of my Tennessee quail. The flu, pneumonia, and two rounds of antibiotics later here they are.

Mine are doing good, and yes they look the same as in the pictures, so i'm pretty sure now that i have tennessee reds. Another thing that gave it a way that i have tennessee reds is that their a little aggressive, especially when you try to pick one up. But i have heard that their usually not that aggressive when they reach maturity, so maybe they will calm down a bit by that time.

    Thanks!!

I bought a 6 pack of quail at a sale a few months ago and were told they are Georgia Giants. They are quiet obviously not Georgia Giants as they look just like the pictured Tennessee Red quail. Everything I have read on the Tennessee Reds say that they lay white eggs. Is that true? Because mine are laying speckled dirty brown looking eggs. I have attached a picture of them although its not a very good one by any means. Someone please help me identify these quail. Oh and also they are about the same size as my Jumbo Brown Coturnix weighing about a pound each.. The males call also sounds the same as the jumbos. Some of them have have little white tuxedo type markings on their chest as well. They are very redish black in color,

Yep they look just like yours even have the two toned toes. Mine cannot be bobwhites though because they lay speckled brown and white eggs and I believe that all bobwhite only lay white eggs. Also mine learned their mating calls at about 5-7 weeks old and started laying right at about 7 weeks.
