I grew up in Texas; we lived with my grandmother and next door to my aunt; both grandmother and aunt had flocks. They were backyard, but not quite in the sense we use it now, and way too long ago for me to remember much about it. I moved from Texas in 1959 and lived in Philadelphia and NYC until 2010, when I moved back to Texas.
I have 7 parrots, 24 fish in a stock tank, 2 donkeys and 3 chickens (someone's Easter chicks, of course - figured someone with parrots would be a sucker for chickens. Of course they were right).
My avatar is a picture of the 3 hens. I'm always looking for better ways to do everything to do with the girls.
