I just checked my PM today and saw that I had 2 new messages. One was from a BYCer, Revelle, telling me how I could possibly unblock BYC on another laptop (that my brother had been using and just to be annoying, he blocked BYC so I couldn't get on.
So I was stuck with my mom's old, slow laptop to play the trivia game last night and unfortunately, I quit because it was just too slow and kept freezing). The other message surprised me; it was from NiftyChicken, telling me I had received 1 year to be a GFM for free!!!!
I was confused because I hadn't even won the trivia contest (in fact, I don't believe I got one point for any questions because everyone was so fast to get the answers first!
It was amazing how fast they were popping up on the screen as soon as the question was posted! lol). So I went back to the trivia contest thread and saw that Revelle, whom had PMed me earlier to help me out with how to unblock BYC on a different laptop, had won the contest! Then I scrolled down an discovered that (she? he?) had offered to give away (her? his?) 1 year of GMF to someone. That's when I found out that (she? he?) had secretly given it to me.
I want to thank Revelle so so so so so so much for doing such a thoughtful thing.
I feel like (she? he?) didn't really have to do that for me, but I am still forever grateful and it shows me that when you're having a bad day, you will be surprised at how some people help you out and are so thoughtful.
