Well here I am. My name is Abbie, and I'm finding as I get older (I just turned 51 on 2/28) I am delighted to say that I just don't give a chirp about what what people think about me. I am crazy as a loon and just weird. And I couldn't be any happier about it. I am married to a wonderful man and he supports the crazy. Actually just goes with the flow. What more could a hot chick ask for in life?
We have always wanted chickens. My Uncle had lots when I was growing up and I always adored them. They did not love me however, and I could never catch one in order to shower my love upon them. So yesterday we discussed it and decided that we should get some soon. Now my husband is a loving man, although he has not quite learned my ways. By soon, I meant NOW. There is no waiting in my world. So off we go to Tractor Supply. They have some chicks but not a lot she told me. I was wasting no time let me tell you. We came home with 4 tiny Golden Sex Link Pullots. Not a lot of knowledge on how to take care of them but that is what wonderful sights like this are for! So they are at home nice and toasty with lots of food and electrolight water just waiting for me to come and love on them tonight. We also are owned by 2 Great Danes, a Pug, an ornery old cat, 2 Tarantulas and a Bearded Dragon. I look forward to being a part of discussions here!

Greetings and welcome to BYC Abbie! So glad you joined us. There's a wealth of info, knowledge and experience shared in the multitude of threads. Browse around and see what interesting stuff you can find. By all means post away when the desire strikes you, especially if you have questions (provide as much detail/info as possible and pictures truly help)... With all the great folks here, generally someone will respond in no time at all. Please make yourself at home!

Oh, if you haven't done so already, PLEASE put at least your general location in your profile. It could be very important if/when you ask for or offer help or advice. You know, climate issues and such. I recommend at least your state as most folks won't be able to figure out where if you put anything more specific (county, town, street, etc) by itself. Old folks like me :old will never remember & look there first. To add it, mouse hover over Account top right and a drop down will appear. Click on Personal Details and scan down. You'll see the spot for Location. Then go to the bottom and save changes. Thanks! Hope you enjoy the site!
