Chseeads, the second pic of your turkey -- it looks so prehistoric (like a petyrodactl)... very cool! [IMG]

Our two birds are still walking.

Funny thing, just before Thanksgiving I was out shopping at the local grocery store. As I was cruising the meat isle there were people digging through the frozen turkeys to find just the right one. I was thinking to myself, "Poor guys, having to eat a store bought bird."

That was until I realized we were going to be doing the same thing.

    Oops.

Our Butterball this year tasted like my horse's salt lick. We didn't brine it, only added butter (non salted) under the skin. I have no idea what was up with that.

Our turkeys are still alive and kicking. Had a group of visiting children from up the street over today to see "a real live turkey". They were so excited to go back to school and tell their friends.

We're going to eat them one day, when they decide it's time I guess. They are our pets, but it seems a bit disrespectful, like a waste of their lives to just throw them away when the time comes. (if that sounds wierd let me know!)

I'm a bit worried that by that point they won't fit in the oven.

    P.
