  1. Howdy Folks,

Yesterday was the day that 5 roosters had to go to camp. This was my first time and it wasn't as bad as most would think. Getting started was the hardest part, but once I was going it was pretty interesting.

My setup. Notice the post hole diggger stand for the cone.

    Finally, the $40,000 hanger unit.

I ended up skining them as I procrastated and didn't get the scalding part finished yet. They soaked in a brine for about 8 hrs.and I ran out of ice. So now they are finishing their rest in the fridge.

Hopefully it will be all worth it. If nothing else, it is alot quieter around here.

LOL!!! I like your hanger. Might have been a little excessive when you can just use a tree limb. Don't know that I would have bought such a nice motor home just to hang my excess roos [IMG]

You'll love eating them... those will be delicious!!

I use a BIG pot on a propane burner for a scalder. I have a thermometer in it so I can monitor the temp pretty well. I just want a picker. That isn't me. I told DH that I wanted a Whizbang chicken plucker. He said we already HAD two whizbang chicken pluckers. He was looking at me and my brother at the time.....

If you ever want to get rid of and give away that hanger you used on the Barred Rock, I'll fly there and pic it up.
