"Imbecile," Callabine growled, slamming the door shut. She almost fell into her bed and pulled the covers over her head, falling asleep in moments as she stopped fighting the affects of the sleeping pills.

Ykrus ran after Illykran.  The other guys weren't sure what to think.  "You guys go wherever and keep it shut.... it's uh classified."

"Yeah right."  Beoron (crud I forgot his name already) nickered.

"Dad what the heck did I just witness back there?"  Ykrus asked.

"Its not her, she'd be older than that anyhow."  He was angry with himself.

"Well you were right, she doesn't reciprocate... but you were an idiot in there."

"She's..."

"Got you twisted, yeah I can tell.  I think you need to avoid her.  She's not the nicest by what little I've witnessed and she got you out of focus."

"I was trying to help her."

"Well if it did any good it will show later... hey will you stop!"  Ykrus was tired up picking up the pace.

"What?"

"Hey you're about to go to war.... I don't want t loose you because some silly females got you screw loose and doesn't seem to give a bleep about you.  Though I will give her some credit for holding her composure while you were acting like a dork."  Ykrus sighed.

"So you're telling me that you want to relinquish your position to Ykrus and take his place on Kabile?"

"Yes."

Fejorn took a big sigh.  "Illykran you served both my grandfather and my father before me.  You saved many already."

"It's my decision my King  I am needed down there, and I can fight better than most."

"True, and I suppose that if I send your son to war anyhow.... that I would possibly still loose you if he does die."  Fejorn grumbled.  "No."

"My King?"  Illykran did not want Ykrus to go.

"He can have your position, but I need you somewhere else.  You've been needed back home anyhow.  You were supposed to only be gone two weeks.  Its been far more."

"Wait are you saying that neither if us are going to battle?"

"That's exactly what I am saying.  The house of Larkspur has paid enough blood... and I will also talk to the council about getting you home in time.  That pilot you came with is capable of outrunning Drex."

"Well so am I."

"But she has a ship, and you don't.   I will ask her myself."

"My King...."

"Do not interrupt."

"Yes."  He bowed

There was a knock at Callabine's door just after sunrise.

"Oh, not again!" Callabine dragged herself out of bed and opened the door.

It was Bearol.  "His Majesty King Fejorn requests your presence promptly."

"Great," Callabine groaned. "Give me a few minutes to get presentable."
"Of course Captain."  Bearol nodded.
[/quote]She hurriedly brushed her teeth and hair and put on her uniform. Three minutes later, she walked out of the door.

Bearol was very dashing he stood proudly and nodded as they made way to the Kings shuttle. "I didn't notice you at the arrival yesterday?"

Callabine took a look at Bearol and mentally groaned. Great, now he's going to try to flirt with me. "No, I was unavoidably detained."

"Ah well to bad. We would have had a better introduction." He winked.

Ykrus was waiting around the corner.

"Bearol." Ykrus stepped out. "Snap to and get back to ship."

"I was ordered to fetch her, she's from my district." Bearol stated.

"General, I'm under orders now go set up for the morning meet with the council." Ykrus insisted.

Bearol grunted and nodded, then he took Callabine's hand and went to kiss it. "See you around Captain." He said before touching her hand with his lips.

If looks could kill, then Bearol would have been dead and buried. "I doubt it," Callabine said, removing her hand from his grasp and walking over to Ykrus.

"Good early morning Captain.  I am General Ykrus of Larkspur, son of Sir Illykran of Larkspur.  Pleasure to meet you."  He gave a small bow then gestured for them to continue.
Callabine inclined her head, careful to keep her face expressionless. She was laughing inside. "Captain Callabine Darkrunner, at your service."

"Bearol was suppose to escort you. I have my reasons for taking over, and also figured I'd spare you his steer manure." He kept his hands folded behind his back. "Captain I am not going to mince words with you. I spent all night talking to my old man. Though neither of us know exactly what you feel, and this is off books by the way, you need to give the old man a break. I think it best you distance yourself from him in your friendship. I know that your business is not mine, but my fathers is. Though he wont admit it, I can plainly see that he is head over heels, for a mare that has little to no feelings for him. You have him flustered. I have never seen him act like such a... well an idiot. You may think me prude, but he is about to volunteer for the heat of battle, he needs to focus. I am not willing to loose my dad right now. I hope you can be somewhat understanding." He kept his manner calm and even. No rude tones whatsoever.
