What does Eggland's feed their chickens to be able to make the claims that they do?
"25% less saturated fat, 4 times more vitamin D, 46% more lutein, 19% less cholesterol, over 3 times more omega 3"

    Does anyone know?

I think I've read that the main difference in their feed is added flax seed, but I can't be 100% sure. If they get any greens in their diet they will have less saturated fat and cholesterol plus more vitamins A, D, E, beta carotene, and folic acid.

That's why I let my girls free range! [IMG]

Quote:That's nice to know. If anyone has any research articles posted I'd love to see them comparing free range and strict layer feeds and egg nutrients.

    Thanks all.
I would appreciate any information on feed as well.
