Our ducks live a 7 minute walk away, in a pond in the woods near our house. We feed them often to keep them loyal, but know that, in the summer at least, they are fairly self sufficient. We have three females- a Cayuga, a Khaki Campbell, and a Pekin. We love them to death as they are somewhat like dogs, very gentle, friendly, and docile.
About a week ago, Nilla (our Pekin) disappeared. At first, we chalked it up to nesting. But it’s been a week, and we are so very worried about our baby. She’s been our favorite for years. Our ducks have been broody before. Is it normal for us to not see one for this long? We’re only down there for a few minutes at a time in summer as they aren’t super interested in the food, or us.
