One of our chickens is laying these jelly eggs - this one with a bit of a tail. We are not sure what's going on. Our girls have plenty of calcium and all of the other girls have totally normal, hard, healthy, shells. The chicken is about 5 months old and just starting to lay, but we have never experienced this with any of our past chickens. Has anyone else seen this before?

No worries, That's normal for a new layer. If you raise chickens long enough, you'll get jelly eggs, no shell eggs, soft shell eggs, alien looking eggs, tiny eggs, eggs without a yolk and everything in between. Some times it takes their bodies time to adapt to laying. I'm sure she's fine.

just got one similar to this yesterday, I have some pullets just starting to lay & some hens 1 1/2 years old, no idea who laid it (under the roost, not in a nest) - but I suspect it's a pullet. Tried to add photo, but it keeps saying Error...
