The continuing Saga of the Icelandic nest minder

I have a nearly year old Icelandic pullet.

She is a lovely bird. She spends a LOT of time watching other birds while they lay. She gets into the nest box with the other orange Icelandic, despite the layers protestations.

She won’t sit on eggs that have been laid, and isn’t eating the eggs. She lays about 3 per week herself.

She also spends a portion of the day looking into each nest box in sequence several times.

She forages and will go far from the coop if I let them roam outside the run.

Some weeks she does more of this than others. What is going on?

I don't see anything that needs correction. I think things will eventually shake out on their own.
Question; How big is your flock??
How many nest-boxes do you have?
Size of nesting boxes?
Could you possibly convert some to be communal nesting boxes?
Communal box is oversize that can handle about 3 hens at one time.
BTW I am in search of one or two Icelandic:love hens myself. They are not common in my general area. I do not want to travel 200 miles to get one.

WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, :highfive:
