We are moving a story line from the What is this chicken thinking? thread to this one so that this evolving story line can be followed and the other thread won't be hijacked. Feel free to add to the story, but try to keep it appropriately funny. If you see your pics on this thread, they have been stolen..um...uh..borrowed from the other thread and we thank you for the donation to the story plot.

First, some background...over on the "What is this chickens thinking?" thread there were some pics of a rooster looking for his keys. He was a large white rooster with golden wash on his feathers and nice big red comb and wattles.

A pic showed a silkie finding the keys behind a wood pile...but we all know a silkie can't see a thing with that furry hat on, so the keys just wouldn't be found. Until....

Well! That solves the mystery of his missing keys.... I don't even want to know how those got there, Gladys!

    Then the story developed.....

Roy: Dude! What happened to your face, bird?

Dave: Word to the wise...stay away from Gladys unless you want a bad case of the wattle rot. And I haven't found my keys since that date, either...

And suddenly...things turn from bad to worse....

The old biddies find what is left of Dave....no keys were ever recovered from the crime scene or from Gladys. Officials are still investigating and inquiries will be made as the case builds. ~United Press

And then it takes a turn towards the gruesome...somewhere, some lambs are silenced.

Tom tried to hide Dave's remains inside the day's feed ration, but the old biddies were suspicious when they found feathers in the mash. Grief counselors will be on hand for the flock this week as the birds try to deal with this horrible tragedy. ~United Press

And Dave returns from the grave to point a toe at his murderer..... Or is it really Dave?

Or...could it be...duh, duh, duh! <insert dramatic music score here> Dave's long lost twin brother come to take revenge?!?!?!?

Tom Wyterock, of Scalemite Farm in Hick County, has been arrested for the suspected murder of Dave Leghorn and is being held without bail due to the extreme violence and gruesome nature of this crime. Here he is pictured visiting one last time with the chicks before they are placed in protective custody pending an investigation into Gladys' role in this murder. Counsel for the defense has stated he is not sure if the children will be returned to Gladys, the suspect's wife, as there appears to be fowl play on her part in connection to the crime. ~United Press

Then things heat up rather quickly.....

Breaking eggs news! More bodies found which might be related to the Dave Leghorn murder.

As more details emerge in this tragic story of betrayal, jealousy and rage that led to murder, the flock are gripped by the drama of the tale. Excavating at the site behind the barn has revealed more remains of chickens, which the coroner states are of 3, possibly 4, unidentified roosters. Here the CSI(Chicken Scene Investigators)team are inspecting the burial site for more clues to how these birds were slain.

Clues are being gathered from the whole community, as investigators don't know exactly how far this case will go. Here the local teenagers were questioned about what, if anything, they might have seen on the night of the crime.

Tom E. Turkee gives his statement about that night. Rhoda Red said, "It was horrible!" Bob Mouzbrethe: "Poor Dave!"

Several witnesses have come forward to tell about the night of the murder, about the accused and his wife's wild lifestyle and about further clues to the bodies found behind the barn.

Pictured here is the accused at one of the many drunken and lewd parties he and his wife, Gladys, would throw, with police being called out several times to break up cockfights and pecking order issues at the residence.

Reporters have spoken with the accused, Tom, pictured here when he was allowed out in the yard for exercise. Tom disclosed how many times he has caught Gladys with other roosters and gave reporters some clues to how he has always had jealousy issues and trouble controlling his anger. Tom blames Gladys for his previous arrests for domestic violence and has hinted that she would be deeply implicated in this current crime when the case came to trial.

Attorney for the defense, B.R. Buzzarde, pictured here, has advised her client to have no further comment for the press and has denied the press any further contact with her client, stating her client will be exonerated in the upcoming trial, but until then will divulge no more details about the case.

In this picture, taken just seconds before the police surrounded and captured him, the accused is shown hiding from police pursuit.

A police artist's drawing of the accused, as described by witnesses to the crime that night, shows the likeness of Tom with startling clarity. This sketch will be used as prosecution exhibit A in the upcoming case. This reporter will keep you posted on updates to the case as more bodies are exhumed behind the barn and as to how they may be related to the current case. ~United Press
