OOOH, I just spent a bundle at pinetree seeds.
I am trying peacock broccoli this year. It is purple.[IMG]

I have to get my seed germinated asap. Where I live, I need my plant-lets in the ground by the 14 of February or it will get too hot and everything will bolt on me.
That is not to say that I won't have freezes and frosts through April... but I can cover and uncover We can have day temps in the 80s and it will fall to the low 30's by morning.

Are you starting the cold frames yet, or still drooling over the seed catalogs?

I plan on growing some odd ball things this year: Celeriac, celery, parsnips,Purple carrots,Tyfon Holland greens- it might stay cold enough for them-and leeks.

I grew leeks before-until the burrowing rodents got them. I have given up on potatoes. You think you are digging up a nice large potato, and it is all hollowed out inside with little rodent teeth marks carving out a perfect shell.
