The Great Escape

I opened the brooder to change out the water for my 2 week olds this AM and they all headed right for my head yelling "Chicken Run!!" I got them all back in but one, who was rather like Steve McQueen in "The Great Escape." She kept running back and forth along the wall like McQueen did on the fence with the motorcycle. She had no motorcycle, but her legs were moving as fast as she could go. I finally got her before any hawks did and replaced her safely in the brooder.

It sounds like the "prisoners" are hankering for a little "yard" time.

Two-week olds need to flex their legs and wings. It may be time to rig up a "chick run".
