The HATCH That HASN'T/ ROUEN BABY{LuckyDucky& PIC..

get a pair of tweezers and take small pieces of the eggs away where it has pipped, underneath it a thick membrane, you can pick a piece of that away and underneath that is the chick covered in a thin membrane. See if the chick is alive, you should see it breathing if it is. Then just pick more shell off and a little bit more thick membrane. Wet the thin membrane that is wrapped round the duck and see if there are any veins there, it might look white and you cant see the veins untill you wet it. If its still alive pick more thick membrane off but stop if you see veins bleeding, its still alive, put it back in the bator and get your humidity up

If it smells foul then it is bad news. Hold the rest of the eggs to your ear and see if you hear scratching or tapping sounds. So here is the run down. Eggs start to move, 24-48 hours they must pip the shell or the will suffocate. After pipped it will take another 24-48 hours for them to hatch. It is a good idea to pip the airsack, if they do not pip within 48 hours. The rest of your eggs may be still fine, but you have to watch the times.

Such a frustrating feeling not knowing what to do! Best of luck to you I really hope you get some more duckies

So their probably dead cuz they started moving around on tuesday & wednesday. the egg that was leaking from a hole was 1st egg to move(tuesday 8am till yesterday afternoon) the pip/hole was UNDER the egg at Pointy End. I put it in a zip lock bag. So I will Carefully listen to each of the 6 eggs left in incubator if I HEAR or SEE Movement I put it back.... where is air sack? fat/ top of egg where the bubble is? ( some eggs it was off to the side a little more) * then i POKE it With What? *HOW FAR/DEEP do I Poke to make a hole? So I Need to Poke ALL 6 eggs more than likely ..*.but ONLY IF I HEAR SOME THING? OMG I dont know if I can do this

Try not to stress too much and keep us posted. I am rooting for you!

I DONT HEAR ANYTHING IN THE LAST 6/8 EGGS. ~* Should I Poke a Hole Up where the BUBBLE IS??~ I Dont think they smell yet, just a smell at first when i open bator from egg i put in bag earlier.

At WHAT POINT WILL THESE EGGS EXPLODE?? WILL THEY EXPLODE IF I POKE A HOLE?? ~1 Of the 5 eggs from New/Soon to Hatch Batch Looks Like its Not even close to being Formed all the way inside, lots of see through areas & a small dark area.. Way Different than other eggs "Should I THROW IT AWAY??"

Its all the eggs(6) left from hatch due March 8th Tuesday. A few moved on thursday & no more since then and a couple moved yesterday but not today at all. the 1st egg to move had a hole underneath & was leaking/bad smell so through away. i just candled & listened to eggs & didnt hear or see any thing. should i poke a hole in bubble at top of EGGS??

Take one of the eggs out and take it into a room where the membrane won't dry out too fast on you from the low humidity. Have a warm moist hand towel with it to dampen the membrane when necessary. Take tweezers and tap a hole in the large part of the egg where the air sac is. Remove all of the egg shell that contains the air sac. There should be an exposed part where the duckling has pipped through. if not dampen the outer membrane till it gets soft and on the outside (try and avoid the middle because of large veins) just see if you can carefully pinch and remove some of that membrane, VERY SLOWLY. if any bleeding occurs damp the cloth on it wrap it and put it in the incubator. the goal at this point is to see if there is anymovement with you messing with them (i know it sounds where but talk to them, it might stimulate movement) if you can see the bill take your tweezers and without puncturing a vein or injuring the duckling more or less poke a hole in that part of the membrane to expose bill for air. (all this if theres movement and duckling is still alive. depending on the amount of blood left in the veins you can wrap the damp towel around the egg without covering the bill and the duckling might go ahead and absorb the rest of the blood and get out on its own. if you check later and the blood is mostly gone you can kinda (not tear or rip) but move aside the membrane to expose the duckling where it can kick and get out, but i would probably not recommend pulling the duckling out just yet incase yolk or blood is still in the bottom.

Warning: Now i say all this because its getting late in the hatch where help is probably necessary for survival, and a couple of weeks ago i myself jumped the gun and accidentally killed a chick because i got anxious and and punctured the blood vessel, with that said, the rest never zipped on me and i went ahead and got them out fine and there alive today.
