    Hi all,

We can't believe the size of this egg which one of our hens is laying. It is so large, it is larger than the jumbo sized egg from the store. We bought to compare them, and we can't believe this size of this egg!

    It is 3 inches lengthwise.

    It is 2 inches wide.

And when we cracked it open,

We see 3 whole beautiful orangy yolks. 3!! I've seen double yolks, but I've never seen triple yolks!! DH has never ever seen this happen too.

All he could think about was "Ouch! It must have hurt coming out."

Anyone else out there with triple yolk stories?

The funniest thing is we do not know which hen is laying that humongous egg. Our hens free range, and they all share nest boxes, and they swap them around, moving from nest to nest, so we have absolutely no idea who is having a hard time laying those eggs. We've had several double yolkers too. Might be the same hen, we don't know.

All we could think about was "oh, it must have hurt coming out". Poor thing. Ouch... [IMG]
