The mayor wants my eggs!

Okay, I admit that it's a small town. Also, as a law enforcement officer my SO has more contact with the mayor than the average citizen. Yesterday the mayor approached my SO and asked him for a couple dozen eggs.
My SO told him I'm already supplying about half of the police officers and a fireman, not to mention my neighbor and he'd have to get in line. I have four people on my waiting list right now.
My poor hens.
