Jason, I had no idea there was a breed of chicken called Pekin. I always thought it was ducks. That rooster of yours is really beautiful!
Hey chicmom, pekins are Australian and British breeds that are very similar to cochin bantams. There is a lot of debate if the two are the same breed! We have so many different pekin types here in Australia (probably in Britain too). Look up pekin chickens on wikipedia - they have a very interesting history. I love them because the are shaped like little feathery balls, kinda waddle, sound like Cartman from Southpark, but they can also be very brave.
