Speaking of eternal...

Today is national plan your epitaph day

https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/plan-your-epitaph-day/

Remember me as you pass by,
As you are now, so once was I,
As I am now, so you must be,
Prepare for death and follow me.
My mom saw one she loved a great many years back... wrote it down so she could use it for my dad.... (still both alive)...

It was in poem form, and sounded great... but was along the lines of "he spent his life complaining, but now he is dead so there is silence"

We warmed up a bit today... no time to shovel out poo.... but wow does the run look bad... :sick

a pit of muddy poo! :sick

Maybe this summer I can figure out how to increase the size of the run. hummmm.

true! The ducks loved it, except for one very sad looking rooster all of the chickens stayed out of the mess.

Ok my friends, the years are marching on...... the next big birthday is on my mind!!!

THought I would share .... the real poop on lipitor and other cholesterol lowering meds...their increase of diabetes.....OMG.....

Long but funny.... a PhD with high cholesterol did 10 years of digging into the medical journals........I am no longer dreading the big birthday....

This is a college lecture and used for MEdical doctor education.

I heard something several weeks ago that 200 years ago or less the average life expectancy for the average man was something like mid 40s, a little longer for women. When I think back of all the near misses I've had with my health and how any one of them could have ended my life without the wonders of modern medicine intervening, I am humbled by the reality. I'll be 65 in 4 months. I am blessed and so very glad modern medicine was around to pull my butt out of the fire. So I try not to fuss to much. After all, as one doctor told me once, age is only a number.

As for Statin drugs. Nope, won't go there. I try to watch what I eat, not too much fat, trans fatties, etc. I'm active. Cholesterol runs between 197 and 236. Doctor tells me that is fine and he would rather me be active then laid up with muscle pain and weakness that the statins can cause.
