The Old Folks Home

I heard something several weeks ago that 200 years ago or less the average life expectancy for the average man was something like mid 40s, a little longer for women. When I think back of all the near misses I've had with my health and how any one of them could have ended my life without the wonders of modern medicine intervening, I am humbled by the reality. I'll be 65 in 4 months. I am blessed and so very glad modern medicine was around to pull my butt out of the fire. So I try not to fuss to much. After all, as one doctor told me once, age is only a number.

As for Statin drugs. Nope, won't go there. I try to watch what I eat, not too much fat, trans fatties, etc. I'm active. Cholesterol runs between 197 and 236. Doctor tells me that is fine and he would rather me be active then laid up with muscle pain and weakness that the statins can cause.
Lots of things happen at 65. Medicare age and penalties if you do not take it and it is full SSI age. I will have to wait until I am 67.

Now that Statins are Generic, We are finding out that they do not do much of anything for us. We need choleserol for our brains to function. Apparently women never need statins at all and it only helps some men that already have heart diseas..but not much

How many keets will you have?
I have no idea! I have 13 right now. That tray has 30 eggs, the brinsea has guinea eggs due to hatch in about a week. And i have more than 30 in another tray. But you can't count your guineas before they hatch!

Do guineas fly out of brooder sooner that chicks? I can't picture them staying contained.
yep by the time two weeks start they look like they are carrying umbrellas under each wing. They can shoot straight up but dont have much control... I put a mesh lid on my brooder before that. By the end of three weeks they can get up into the rafters.

Dh went to the Dr yesterday. X-ray showed something wrong in his lower back. Dr. Said x-rays don't show the actual problem. But it's either a crushed or a bulging disk. He said he would ask for authorization for an MRI.
Dr. Said all his hardware is still in place in his neck. But again the X-ray don't show much.
We have to get the MRI before the can refer him to a specialist.
He's been in to much pain to do anything more on the kitchen.
And the Dr. Told him to leave it alone for now.

I asked my Ds#2 to come put my appliances back in the kitchen.
So I can do laundry and cook.
He said he'd be here this morning.
I hope he shows up!
