The woven pieces I posted are my ancestors. The women grew the raw materials (flax and raised sheep) and spun the fibre to be crafted into items, woven with skills I hope to one day master...if I live long enough I suppose.
Treasures for me to be inspired by...the blue pillow my fav Aunt made and willed to me. I look at it often and it reminds me of our mutual happy relationship.

The ground is bare of snow and the majority of the leaves past a few hanger oners, are off the trees & shrubs.
The mad race continues to put things away like the concrete ornaments, finish tilling and bury the tender shrubs, rose bush.

Both fish and plant ponds are dismantled and the fish/plants away in the pump house for winter. Majority of the fruit trees we planted once again provided the wilds with a fall feast before they move on & migrate.

Ram lambs are moved to the Lucky Barn and were quite upset their alfalfa stash lost its covering in the high wind storms. Thankful the grass fires along some hwys never happened close to home.

Spouse came home today with three totes of poultry rations (my recipe I phoned in earlier in the week) and managed to get them stowed away so we'll go into full on winter with all ten bins topped up. No mid-winter trip to the mill to stock back up which is a nice feeling; we're full up now!

Speaking of full...I made pizza for lunch; decided it was simpler to make one big honking pie and eat on that with all the busy stuff on the go still. Otherwise be mad at the gremlins for not keeping us oldsters fed.
Call it a night (night!) and get ready for another long day. Snow needs to happen and stay this time. I'm running outta steam.
Doggone & Chicken UP!
