The Omega Rocks: The Last & Ultimate Barred Plymouth Rock Flock

Pics
Today I went hiking to see if I could find the wounded doe. I crisscrossed the entire lower lots through the woods but couldn't find her. When I left the main property and went through the chain link gate to the other lots, Angus and his girls wanted to follow me. It took me about 15-20 min to go down and around the entire 3+ mostly wooded acres, but I didn't see her at all. When I got back, Angus met me at the gate. I saw him see me as I approached from the side of the pasture lot. He seemed a little concerned or confused as to why I was down there. Bodie used to do that; he'd wait for me to get back.
My older son went with me to the barn to see Angus. He said, "Whoa, he's massive!" When I told him that Angus was as large as Bash, Michael said he's bigger than Bash. He is with Bash in the twilight of his life, for sure, but I don't know that Bash was ever that broad.

It was raining all day long. The doe is still missing, but the corn I left in her hidden bedding spot is gone; doesn't mean she ate it because we have so many deer that live here, but I can hope. I hope she shows up again, but I have my doubts. I don't mind if someone took the chance to put her down, but I wish I knew what happened to her. I hate mysteries.
The chickens stayed inside all day of course so not much to do with them. Angus is jumping out of his skin to go outside, but he had to miss out today. Ethel is being harassed constantly by Hazel and Hannah so she sits away from them most of the time. Her neck is so bare with this early molt.
I wrote a lot on my #2 book in the new fiction series that began with Irises in September as the first one, got up to 25K words in the first nine chapters so a lot of progress made, seemed a good rainy day activity. I hoped to have it out in print by the end of December, but the aggregator pulled a deadline for changes or newly published works to Dec 8. The proof copy will be here tomorrow or Tues so there is no time to change anything, then leave 7 days for it to definitely take effect before I hit the publish button. I'll still submit it as soon as I can, but it will probably be out after January 1. Oh, well, whatever...
I am still wondering what to do on our anniversary. My husband always loved the chicken strip basket with fries and country gravy at Dairy Queen, so maybe I'll just take him there. I can have the big fish sandwich and remove the bun or just go for broke. Ooh, living large, aren't we? :p I guess I'll report what we ended up doing at the end of Friday.
Adding tonight: I may have convinced him to go to Longhorn for the lunch menu, cheaper but the same foods. We may change our minds three times before Friday.
