Hi - I also have four ex battery farm chickens, and noticed over the last two days one of the 4 eggs that I get daily is turning white. It may be age, it may be the season as we are in the height of our summer! I didn't know their age when we go them. We will go back and get more, they bring us such delight and pleasure, with their own personalities. I must say my chickens are healthy and happy!. It is the first time I have had chickens, and have the space on our property to let them free range. Just watching and enjoying them, I am convinced that they are meant to roam and forage and not be in battery farm.
Welcome to Backyard Chickens. How nice of you to rescue the girls? They must think they are in heaven to get out of cages and breathe AIR. Would love to see photos if you have any.

Welcome to BYC!:cd I have three chickens and have been wanting to adopt a battery hen. How did you get your hens? I have been looking for a place to adopt one. Where did you rescue them from? I too believe chickens should be able to roam free.
