Walter was aptly named. He's 3 months old now and already too smart. Chicken schmicken!... behaviors... he's got the original stuff of survival. He's hand tamed and amiable enough, but not cuddly.
If there is anyone out there who needs to strengthen their flock genes and let a little bantam hen have a new sweetheart to go broody for, then Walter's your rooster.
You'll have to be close to Bemidji, Minnesota and vow to not eat him. He's a partridge from Murray McMurray, and a fine example of cochin heritage if I ever saw one. He'd be worth trying to take to the Beltrami fair next fall.
