The kids wanted to name the coop “Cluckingham Palace” so we decided to give royal names to all the chicks.

First up is Lancelot. He’s a lavender Orpington. I’m assuming this is the cockerel since his comb is more pronounced.

Next is Guinevere. Another Lavender Orpington.

Next is Lady Cluck (from Robin Hood cartoon). She is a Buff Orpington.
Then there is Vicky (Queen Victoria) a Dominique. She’s feisty already. I know pecking order isn’t established yet but so far she’s the boss. Last but not least are Gal (Galadriel, queen of the elves in LOTR) and Princess Lay-a from Star Wars. They are Speckled Sussexes. They all seem to be doing well. Eating and drinking and playing.

One Week old pictures and descriptions incoming. Going to try to keep them in the same order and then I’ll be adding our BLRWs at the end


Here is Lance—he’s the loudest of the bunch

Gwen—very pretty girl

Here is Clucky. She’s big and seems to have a sweet personality

Next is Vicky who I think will be Victor. She’s supposed to be a sexed pullet Dominique but Vic is tall and in charge. I really think it’s a cockerel. Time will tell.

And Gal and Leia—the speckled Sussex pulleys. They are inquisitive and love to jump up on your legs. They also already chase and eat bugs. They might have the best personalities so far.

And here are the BLRW. 6 from hatchery and one from shipped eggs. This is the order they will to in. I put them in order of most likely to be a cockerel to least. I know there’s no way to know. Just based on my gut. I want to see how far off I was in a couple months. Here are the names for now: Big Boy, Blue, Red, Rapunzel, Myrtle, Jules, and Baby
