So I've moved my 6 week old babies outside, to their own mini-coop in their own mini run. Like many of you have reported, the babies HATE their coop - I have to catch them and force them, cheeping and flapping, into the coop at night.

However, when the big girls go out and free-range, I let the babies into the big run, which gives them access to part of the big coop. The first thing they do is all troop up the ramp into the big coop and flap around in there.

Apparently, the baby coop is creepy, but the Big Girls coop is cool!

Of course! If I've learned anything about my chickens is that they will do exactly opposite of what I need or want them to do. My theory is it's their way of getting back at us for being so much higher on the food chain.

That's really funny. My youngest ones, who sleep on a box in the coop, go jump around on the roost when everyone is let out in the morning.
