Yesterday we built an incubator out of slim insulation pieces and duc tape with a hole large enough to be able to check the temperature and turn the eggs comfortably - its covered with a plastic freezer bag that we can see through. I bought a health check monitor that gives both temperature and humidity, a pigtail, 2-60 watt light bulbs that my hubby set up and attached; I have a 100F reading thermostat ordered and coming in on Saturday. We got 3 dozen eggs that were fertilized, though I don't know if they were put in the fridge or not before I bought them. 2 dozen brown, 1 dozen white. My husband has done this before but years ago, I am completely new at this venture and need a lot of advice and guidance. Hubby is building a portable chicken coop within the next few days. We would greatly appreciate any and all advice and help that any of you can give. Thank you in advance.
