that you neglect your house to go play chickies. who cares that you have no clean dishes and dust everywhere.. there is always mc donalds. no dishes required lol
That they put heaps of dust all over your sunroom while you have them inside. And more dust, and more dust. And that you finally say "I am not cleaning that room again until they go outside!" to try to get hubby to finish the chicken coop so you can finally put your 4 MONTH old pullets outside.
I am gearing myself to put the triplets out tonight in the coop- they're first. It has been so much fun having them in here with me. I am going to miss the scratching, the trills, the pecking, and peeping soooo much. I think I may need a sleeper or an 'adult beverage' to get asleep tonight!
Mine were over five months old before their coop was finished (long story). However, they never lived in the house. They just took over the screeened porch. Their pen just keep getting bigger and bigger.
Thank goodness we had plenty of portable catch pens to increase the size as needed.
that once you watched your first egg hatch out successfully.......you would never want to STOP haching.
that once a broody silkie takes over some strangers fertile eggs as her very own....and they hatch....you want to do it over & over again to watch what a devoted mom she is.
