The triple yolk.

    I am new here. My first post. Hopefully I get this right.

    I have five hens. 2 Buff Orp's are my first layers and a few weeks ago one laid a triple yolker. Thought I would share a picture.

    Wow! And I was proud of my double yolker my new layer gave me last week! LOL! That's pretty cool.

    I had a brahma who would almost always lay a double yolker and once in a while she'd make it a triple - it is the neatest thing to crack open an egg and see that! [​IMG]

    You won't need too many of those to make a cake!

    Large or very small eggs with additional yolks are fairly common in hens who have just started to lay, but triple yolkers are really a bit special!

    How fun!!! Thanks for sharing a pic! I've just started getting eggs from my first flock, and I've wondered what double-yolkers look like, so this is really cool to see!

    The Hen that laid the triple yolker lays a double almost every other day. I wonder if that means she won't lay as long?
